Our first Nature Play Day at Louis Sutter was a TREE-mendous success!
More than 350 people attended including 250 kids ages 2 to 5, from early childhood centers, family child-care homes, neighborhood resource centers, and SF families.
Sixteen organizations under the umbrella of SF Children & Nature contributed staff time and resources, helped spread the word, coordinated families, donated transportation, translated event materials, welcomed attendees in three languages, guided groups through the forest trails, facilitated 20 distinct nature-inspired activities, and shared their passion for connecting with the natural world.
“We had the best time. Thanks so much for enriching our children’s outdoor exploration and connecting them deeper to nature-inspired play. Taking many ideas from today to enhance nature exploration at our childcare program.” -Teacher at Carabao Kids Family Childcare
“Nature Day was a huge success! Our students, staff, and parents loved it! It was so organized, fun, and perfect for our preschoolers! Thank you for setting this up and we look forward to attending more of these events!” -Amanda Lee, St. Francis Site Coordinator, Stonestown Family YMCA Preschool
