Bring the family to the LEAP Sandcastle Classic, where castle-building teams raise funds for arts and architecture programs serving 10,000 Bay Area public school students. This year’s theme, “Level Up,” is inspired by video games old and new, with twenty sponsored teams creating 20’ x 20’ sand sculptures.
Environmental artist Zach Pine is leading the Community Castle, a hands-on 20’ x 20’ project open to the public with a fun Pac-Man theme. Arrive anytime between 11:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. to help build!
The award ceremony will be at 3:00 p.m.
SF Children & Nature is part of the national Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) initiative and is working to address the disparities in nature access along socioeconomic and racial lines to ensure all children have the opportunity to play, learn and grow in the outdoors.
We're building a network of nature and play advocates.
