Experience the joy of flying kites at the third annual, FREE Kite by the Bay Festival at Candlestick Point State Recreation Area (SRA).
Park goers can decorate and fly kites (kits provided!), learn to fish, eat some free food, and groove to the tunes of local DJ BeatsMe, thanks to the generous support of Parks California. Engage with local non-profits and partners, including Literacy for Environmental Justice, the Wild Oyster Project, the Crosstown Trail, Faces SF, and the California State Parks Foundation.
A hidden gem near the old ballpark site, Candlestick Point SRA is a 220-acre tapestry of grassy uplands, coastal salt marsh, intertidal mudflats, and pocket beaches where community members gather to fish, BBQ, exercise, ride bikes, kayak, windsurf, and find respite from the bustle of city life.
Free to attend, but please register>>
SF Children & Nature is part of the national Cities Connecting Children to Nature (CCCN) initiative and is working to address the disparities in nature access along socioeconomic and racial lines to ensure all children have the opportunity to play, learn and grow in the outdoors.
We're building a network of nature and play advocates.
